Fleet Response Hosts Inaugural Safety Summit

CLEVELAND Fleet Response hosted an inaugural Safety Summit for fleet, risk and safety professionals, last week in Cleveland. The purpose of the event was to offer a forum for Fleet Response clients and prospective clients to share their experiences and ideas of how safety is shaping fleet policy and direction.

Scott Mawaka, Fleet Response president and COO, spoke at the opening reception and set the tone for the two-day event. "Our hope is to bring together organizations from across the country, not only to learn from industry experts, but also to network and learn from each other." "It is our expectation that the agenda will provide insight and assist attendees in their organization's fleet and safety policy development," said Mawaka.

The summit agenda included speakers from AlertDriving, Bobit Media, Bridgestone/Firestone, Driving Dynamics, Ford Motor Company, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Millsor & Nobil, LLP, and National Safety Council. Topics covered included Dynamics of Safety Driving, Negligent Entrustment, Crash Testing, Vehicle Safety Features, Tire Safety, Risk Management System Development and overall tips for safer drivers.

In addition to the speakers, the summit included a half-day for the attendees to experience "behind the wheel" training and learn new driving strategies to share with their drivers. Approximately 26 organizations were represented by the 40 participants at the event. Sponsors for the event included AlertDriving, Bobit Media, Driving Dynamics and Ford Motor Company.
