IRVINE, CA – U.S. carmaker Fisker Automotive has announced that Finland's Valmet Automotive will manufacture its first production car, the Fisker Karma. Start of production is slated for the fourth quarter of 2009, in line with initial delivery target timings to North America, while planned deliveries to Europe are due to begin in 2010.

Fisker is still projecting total annual production targets of 15,000 cars, although it has suggested that not all of these will be built in Finland.
