Texas Bans Cell Phone Use in School Zones

ARLINGTON, VA - Effective Sept. 1, all drivers in Texas school crossing zones are banned from talking on hand-held phones and texting, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Calif. Woman Sentenced to 6 Years for Fatal Texting Crash

REDDING, CA – Shasta County prosecutor Stephanie Bridgett said the 49-year-old woman had paid several bills by cell phone in the moments before the crash, according to the New York Times.
