TrackNet’s TotalTrack Solution Utilizes Aeris Network

ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint

SAN JOSE, CA– Aeris Communications’ coast-to-coast M2M network is supporting TrackNet’s TotalTrack remote monitoring solution. TrackNet, a leader in GPS fleet management, provides remote monitoring services through its TotalTrack GPS Fleet Management System.

Operating over Aeris’ GSM and CDMA networks, TotalTrack provides key monitoring services in the HVAC, plumbing, electrical contracting, paving, transit, and distribution industries, saving companies approximately 12 percent in operational costs and six percent in insurance expenses.

Companies that allow workers to take vehicles home see more savings due to reduced employee use of vehicles during non-work hours such as evenings and weekends.

TrackNet’s TotalTrack service provides fleet managers the ability to monitor their fleets in real-time through an easy-to-read user interface that displays whether a vehicle is off, idling, or the direction and rate of speed in which it is traveling.

In an annual survey I conduct of fleet managers, they rated fleet safety as their No. 2 concern, right behind the cost of fuel. Why the renewed interest in fleet safety? More and more fleet managers are reporting an uptick in preventable accidents. In addition, fleet managers are feeling pressure from other corporate departments to increase fleet driver safety.

Upfitters Increase Prices 3%-8% Due to Higher Commodity Prices

By Mike Antich
The high cost of materials has caused price increases for truck bodies, trailers, van interiors, liftgates, and other upfit equipment. Prices have increased, on average, 3-8 percent. Upfitting prices have risen multiple times and some truck equipment manufacturers are guaranteeing current prices for only 90 days. Worldwide, prices have soared for commodities used in upfitting, such as steel and aluminum.
