Audi Could Build Own U.S. Plant
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Audi is considering scenarios for production in the United States, including building its own plant, according to www.reuters.com.
The earliest Audi could begin U.S. production would be 2010.
Audi aims significantly to boost annual sales in the U.S. market to 200,000 units by 2015, by when it aims to sell 1.5 million vehicles a year. Involving major Volkswagen investor Porsche in U.S. production is also an option, according to Audi executives.
