LeasePlan USA Surpasses 10 Million Imaged Documents in ePlan

ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint

ALPHARETTA, GA – LeasePlan USA began its shift toward paperless operations in 1993. Today, there are more than 10 million images available in ePlan, LeasePlan's online fleet management tool. According to LeasePlan, it understands the importance of being an environmentally conscious company and its role in minimizing the effect that our daily operations have on the environment. For that reason, imaged documents, as opposed to paper, continue to play a critical and expanding role in the management of clients' fleets.

The images available in ePlan are not limited to vehicle order confirmations, but include service and lease images as well. Service images include 47 different types related to accident reporting, vendor invoices and correspondence, collision photographs, MVRs, repair approval forms, and vehicle titles. There are also 65 lease image types such as, manufacturer invoices, auction bill of sale, vehicle cost summary, and upfitting specifications.

"Having these images available online is not only eco-friendly, but provides an easy and efficient method for our clients to access this critical information to streamline the management of their fleet," said Jon Toups, national vice president, sales, marketing, and client relations.

There is a 60-day comment period about the SEC proposal. Fleet leasing will be impacted by the adoption of IAS. It is probable that all fleet leases in the U.S. will need to be capitalized sometime in the 2011-2016 timeframe.

The Hidden Cost of Personal Use

By Mike Antich
With fuel prices remaining elevated, many companies are wondering whether they are charging enough for personal use. At some companies, this discussion is long overdue. When re-evaluating personal use charges, a common mistake is to focus solely on the cost of fuel, which is understandable because, after all, fuel is the catalyst for these discussions. However, doing so ignores the other “hidden” costs of personal use, which have also risen.
