LISLE, IL - Two hundred of Molex Inc.'s U.S.-based fleet drivers have completed GreenDriver's online training and certification program, making it the first corporation to complete the program, according to the electronic, electrical, and fiber optic interconnection systems manufacturer.

"Not only is the GreenDriver program a smart environmental decision, but it also will result in cost savings for the company as we reduce our fuel usage," said Joel Eurich, manager, Global EH&S, Molex.

By completing the GreenDriver program, Molex expects to reduce the fuel use by at least 10 percent, which equates to approximately 26,000 gallons of fuel and 230 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually.

The 90-minute GreenDriver course is based on industry best practices and fact-based studies and provides practical, simple ways for drivers to operate their vehicles more efficiently.

Based on data from Donlen Corporation, Molex's fleet management provider, Molex's sales and marketing teams drive approximately 3,700,000 miles, consuming approximately 260,000 gallons of fuel a year.
