CINCINNATI - While they may not have looked like typical lease customers, six area kids still managed to leave Mike Albert Vehicle Fleet Management's offices August 5 with a fresh set of wheels.

Representing the Avondale Boys and Girls Club, the kids were each given a brand new bicycle recently assembled by Mike Albert employees.

The bike-building effort was part of a team-building exercise in conjunction with Mike Albert's July sales meeting. Employees had to solve a series of clues in order to get the parts they needed to complete the bikes.

What they didn't know was that the recipients of the bikes were waiting in a nearby conference room, ready to surprise the employees and claim their new wheels.

When the kids emerged, employees went right to work helping them pick out a bike and secure their helmets, which were also provided by Mike Albert.

"We're really excited about the event," Mike Albert President Marty Betagole said. "These kids were also all the best readers for the year, so they really deserve (the bikes)."

For help with the event, Mike Albert partnered with the Leader's Institute, an organization that helps companies stage "Build-A-Bike" events all over the country.
