NEW YORK - Technology Managers Forum, the professional association for enterprise IT managers headquartered in New York City, announced the winners of its 15th annual Best Practice Awards program at the 16h annual conference, "Securing the Virtual Enterprise," Oct. 8 in Manhattan, N.Y.

TechForum's Best Practice Awards program, founded in 1996 by executive director Priscilla Tate, was designed to recognize and promote excellence in the business management of technology. The term Best Practices refers to processes proved to be the most effective means of implementing a project, and which are significant in that they are innovative and can be replicated. The Best Practice Awards program is particularly distinguished by the caliber of its judging panel, which features practicing Fortune 1000 technology managers.

Technology Managers Forum's 2009 Best Practice Awards honorees include the following organizations:

Technology Innovation, First Place: PHH Arval.

Business Process Improvement, First Place: Pershing LLC and United States Postal Service. Honorable Mention in the Business Process Improvement category was awarded to Accenture.

Information Security, First Place: University of Chicago Medical Center, along with their technology partner Layer 7 Technologies. Honorable Mention in Information Security was awarded to The George Washington University, Georgetown University and American University, for a joint project.

Storage Management, First Place: Prudential Financial, Inc.

All winners were chosen from nominations from organizations in the United States, Europe, and Asia, according to the organization.
