In Memoriam: Thomas Powell, Jr., 1934- 2010

MOORESTOWN, NJ - Thomas Powell, former sales executive with Avis Leasing and PHH, passed away June 1. He was 76.

In his youth, Powell was a New Jersey All-State Football selection and received a scholarship to attend Colgate University. He participated in ROTC and received his commission as a pilot in the United State Air Force.

Powell was also active in the community as a coach and at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorestown where he attended services and served as Deacon, Elder, and Trustee over the years. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who was unfailingly helpful, encouraging, and kind to all those who knew him.

Powell resided in Moorestown for 41 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara; sons Thomas J. III, Timothy and Todd; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown.
