Bridgestone Ships 10 Million Run-Flat Tires

July 22, 2008

CHICAGO– Bridgestone Corp. has shipped its 10 millionth run-flat tire. The company has shipped five million run-flats since August 2006.

"Bridgestone Group recognizes run-flat tires as strategic products," say company officials, according to Modern Tire Dealer Magazine. "As run-flat tires can also contribute greatly to safety and reduce environmental burden, Bridgestone will strive to further permeate and expand the market."

Bridgestone produces run-flats at six plants in four countries: Japan, the United States, Poland, and South Africa.

The 10 million run-flat tires shipped were self supporting run-flats, note Bridgestone officials.
