Fleet Safety Video Tip: Defensive Driving Fundamentals

VIDEO: How to Drive Defensively

Since driver error is responsible for about 90 percent of all traffic crashes, fleet drivers need to master the fundamentals of defensive driving.

For example, it’s important for drivers to leave plenty of space between their vehicle and other nearby vehicles, just in case anyone brakes or changes lanes abruptly. Maintaining a safe speed is also crucial.

A defensive driver never assumes the other drivers on the road are 100-percent attentive and will always do the right thing. He or she drives with an extra measure of caution.

Here is an Allstate Insurance video offering 12 defensive driving tips. To view the video, click on the photo or link above. You may want to pass this advice along to fleet drivers as a friendly reminder.
