Porsche is updating its top-of-the-line 911 models for the 2017 model year with styling tweaks and additional horsepower for the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models.

For 2017, the 911 Turbo's 3.8L twin-turbo flat six will make 540 hp. When added to the 911 Turbo S with new turbochargers, the engine will make 580 hp. Porsche increased horsepower with modified intake ports in the cylinder heads, new fuel injectors, and higher fuel pressure.

In addition to a higher maximum torque (553 lb.-ft. in overboost compared to 523 lb.-ft. on the Turbo), the Turbo S also has a higher redline (7200 rpm instead of 7000 rpm), according to the automaker.

Pricing has been set at $159,200 for the 911 Turbo and $188,100 for the 911 Turbo S, excluding the destination charge. The vehicles will reach dealer lots in April.
