Jaguar will offer a new four-cylinder Ingenium engine that will provide more horsepower and greater efficiency when paired with 2018 models of the XE, XF, and F-Pace, the company announced.

The new 2.0-liter engine is rated to produce 296 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque that, when added to the F-Pace, should also deliver a fuel economy rating of 25 mpg on the highway.

The 2018 XE equipped with the new engine should achieve 28 mpg on the highway.

The engine, which will be offered in vehicles badged as 30t, will include twin-scroll turbos. It will slot in as the fourth engine choice, along with the 25t powered by a 2.0-liter turbo Ingenium (247 hp), 20d powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel (180 hp), and S powered by a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 (380 hp).
