For 2014, Chrysler Group said it will offer two “firsts” for the auto industry, a new nine-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive-based 4x4 system with rear-axle disconnect. In addition, the automaker is introducing four new engines, including two diesels.
Chrysler to Invest Close to $240M to Boost Engine Production
DETROIT – Chrysler plans to invest $198 million in its Mack I engine plant to build the Pentastar V-6 engine, and $40 million to add a flexible production line that can build the Pentastar engine and the inline four-cylinder Tigershark engine.
