The executive overseeing U.S. sales of Nissan's Infiniti Motor Co. has stepped down from his position, marking the third high-ranking executive to leave the luxury brand in less than a year.

Infiniti is making the move to grow its brand presence in the U.S., according to a release.

Randy Parker, formerly vice president of Nissan’s Western Region, will be replacing Michael Bartsch.

Bartsch is leaving the company to "pursue other interests," according to Infiniti. He was appointed to his current role in September of 2013. Prior to joining Infiniti, Bartsch worked for Porsche Cars North America as executive vice president.

Parker was responsible for regional marketing, distribution, dealer network development and financial controls for Nissan's largest U.S. regional operation.

In 2013, Infiniti’s U.S. sales declined by two percent, to about 116,000 units, while competitors such as Lexus increased by 12 percent, and Audi by 13 percent, according to Forbes.

Parker will report directly to Roland Krueger in close coordination with José Muñoz. He will be located at Infiniti Americas headquarters in Franklin, Tenn.

Roland Kruger joined Infiniti in September of 2014 as president, a week after the brand's chairman Andy Palmer left for Aston Martin and two months after president Johan de Nysschen departed for Cadillac.
