Volvo Cars will add all-wheel drive as an option that can be paired with its T6 gasoline engine in the Drive-E powertrains, the Swedish carmaker has announced.

Volvo will offer the all-wheel-drive option on the 60-series vehicles, such as the XC60 luxury crossover, S60 wagon, and V60 wagon. The powertrain will deliver 306 hp and would be initially offered in Europe.

In the XC90, the T6 is coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission and delivers 320 hp. This powertrain configuration will be available globally, alongside the T5 in the XC90, which delivers 254 hp.
