Audi will show its Q8 full-size SUV concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Audi has announced.

The Q8 would likely be Audi's largest SUV, but Audi hasn't confirmed production. The vehicle will serve as "a new spearhead" in the Q SUV lineup, said Marc Lichte, Audi's head of design.

The Q8 will offer a "spacious interior" with four seats and a flat roof line. It will be wider than Audi's existing Q models and pulls cues from the Audi Ur-quattro sports car that debuted at the 1980 Geneva Motor Show.

Audi will unveil the Q8 at a press conference on Jan. 8.
