The Infiniti QX50 concept premiering at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in January will showcase the brand's latest autonomous drive support technologies and new Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine technology.

The QX50 concept's autonomous drive support system will preview a production-ready incarnation of a technology package that will be developed further in future production models, according to the automaker. The autonomous drive technologies will assist the driver by delegating more onerous driving tasks to the car, including navigating stop-start traffic on the highway or keeping track of the positions of surrounding vehicles.

Meanwhile, the VC-Turbo engine that will be featured at the auto show will offer the power of a high-performance 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with the torque and efficiency of an advanced diesel powertrain, according to a release.

The VC-Turbo engine utilizes a multi-link system and is able to adapt its compression ratio according to driving condition; it offers a compression ratio between 8:1 and 14:1. The engine has a development target power output of approximately 200 kW (268 hp /272 ps) and 390 Nm torque.
