Audi has revealed pricing and specifications for its new A4 allroad. It will receive a number of improvements for 2017, including a redesigned 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, and prices will start at $44,000.

The new allroad, which will be available this fall, will also feature a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive option. The engine offers 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque that reaches 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, according to the automaker.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the allroad begins at $44,000 for the Premium model. The Premium Plus version will be sold at $47,000 and the Prestige model is priced at $51,400.

The A4 allroad also features a new system of quattro all-wheel drive, which utilizes an electronic multi-plate clutch along with a decoupling rear axle differential to achieve fully variable torque distribution. This system utilizes ultra technology, which allows for intelligent, proactive control of the all-wheel drive system to predictively modify the torque application as needed.

It also has a newly redesigned five-link suspension with standard adaptive dampers, and an ability to firm the dampers for dynamic driving. A steering-rack placement direct at the wheel centers is available for precise steering.

The interior features an acoustic windshield that helps keep cabin-noise low. Other interior features include: three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, three-zone automatic climate control with wing-design wrap-around dashboard and diffuser air vent, and eight-way power front seats with four-way power lumbar support for driver.

Technological features for the allroad include the Audi virtual cockpit, which offers a 12.3-inch display for navigation, and a full-color head-up display. Also included is Audi connect, which is available in three different packages and connects the vehicle to the internet, the vehicle’s owner, and the surrounding infrastructure.

A number of driver assist technologies are also available with the new model. This includes the Audi Pre Sense Basic, which prepares the brake system for a quicker response during an unexpected maneuver, and the Audi Pre Sense City, which can brake to prevent hitting stationary objects, even when traveling at speeds of up to 52 mph.

The allroad, which has an increased ground clearance of 34mm over the A4 sedan, also  includes an offroad mode which adjusts aspects of the engine, transmission, steering, and disables Audi pre sense to provide the maximum benefit while offroad.
