Buyers of 2015 Buick models will have the option of adding OnStar 4G LTE starting this summer, General Motors has announced.

Buick is providing the optional Wi-Fi hotspot on the 2015 LaCrosse, Regal, Verano, and Encore, GM announced at the DENT Conference. The service will be available on Buick vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. Data packages will be offered separately by AT&T.

Buick is also offering the Buick AppShop where owners can use their 4G LTE connection to download apps and stream data through an interface in the vehicle.

By the 2016 model-year, OnStar 4G LTE hardware will be added to every Buick model. The Wi-Fi hotspot will allow passengers to connect their personal devices such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets to access high-speed internet.

The Buick LaCrosse sedan was the top Buick fleet vehicle in 2012, as 883 were added to commercial fleets and 7,437 were added to rental fleets.
