Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has appointed Mark Chernoby as the head of quality, the automaker has announced.

Chernoby replaces Doug Betts, who left the company "to pursue other interests," according to a statement. Chernoby continues in his role as chief operating officer over product development for Fiat Chrysler.

Betts' departure came Oct. 28, one day after Consumer Reports released a study showing the reliability of each Chrysler brand has declined, reports the Detroit Free Press.
