Audi is adding a four-cylinder engine to its A6 and A7 luxury sedans for the 2016 model year and plans to debut the vehicles at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.

The introduction at the show represents the vehicles' North American debut. The new 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI gasoline engine produces 252 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The vehicles will also get new LED taillights and trapezoidal tailpipe tips.

For 2016, the A6 will now offer four engine configurations:

  • A 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder with 252 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque
  • A 3.0-liter V-6 with 333 hp and 325 lb.-ft. of torque
  • A 3.0-liter TDI V-6 with 240 hp and 428 lb.-ft. of torque
  • A twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with 450 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque

The A7 gets the same powertrain upgrades and will be available with the 333 hp 3.0-liter V-6 and 240 hp 3.0-liter TDI, along with the 450 hp S7 and the 560 hp RS7.

Audi's 2016 A6 and A7 sedans made their first appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October.
