Shirley Collins, CAFM, North America fleet director for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Research Triangle Park in N.C., announced that she will retire from the company, effective Sept. 18, following a restructuring.

"I feel this is the right time for me to move on to a less stressful phase of my life," said Collins, who worked for GSK for almost 30 years. "I have been blessed in many ways and I’m very thankful. It has been a great ride!"

Collins managed more than 5,000 vehicles in the U.S. for the British multinational pharmaceutical company.

Collins was the winner of Automotive Fleet's 2000 Professional Fleet Manager of the Year Award. Inducted in the Fleet Hall of Fame in 2011 and was noted as one of the "25 Most Influential Women in Fleet" in 2008 and 2013.

In addition, Collins was an active member of NAFA, AFLA, and served on the Ford Advisory Board, the ARI Client Technology Advisory Board and on the CEI Advisory Board.

Henry Rogers, who previously was senior finance manager general medicine field sales for GSK, is succeeding Collins as North America fleet director.
