Jaguar Land Rover has added a mobile app to its infotainment system that allows users to track tagged items with Bluetooth devices known as tiles, the automaker has announced.

The app, known as Tile, has been integrated into the InControl Touch and InControl Touch Pro infotainment systems on Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The app uses Tile tags — Bluetooth tracking devices that can be attached to important items to track their whereabouts.

Using the central touch screen, a user launches the app, which notifies the customers if specified items are not inside the vehicle. If the items are missing, the app can provide on-screen directions to their last known location.

The Tile smartphone app is compatible with both Android and Apple platforms and the number of items that can be tracked is limitless. The tile app for InControl Apps is now available for download.
