Volvo's 2018 XC60 luxury SUV will retail for at least $41,500 and arrive as the first Volvo built on the new 60 series platform of smaller cars and crossovers, Volvo has announced.

The base 2018 XC60 is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder T5 gasoline engine that makes 250 horsepower. Volvo will also offer an XC60 that's powered by the turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder T6 engine that makes 316 horsepower.

Volvo will offer a third model — the plug-in hybrid T8 that makes 400 horsepower. The models arrive with standard all-wheel drive.

The VC60 T6 retails for $44,900, while the T8 starts at $52,900.

The XC60 features an array of safety features, including Lane Keeping Aid and Oncoming Lane Mitigation, which provides steering input to mitigate a head-on collision. The cars will also have the standard Intellisafe City Safety system. Volvo's blind spot information system will now use Steer Assist to prevent lane changes into other vehicles.
