Daimler Vans USA is recalling 1,257 2016-model year Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans, each equipped with reinforced front axles, because the tire labels on the B-pillar aren’t accurate, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The labels list a tire pressure that’s too low, NHTSA said. As a result, drivers might operate the vehicle with low front tire pressures — a condition that poses a safety risk.

Freightliner Sprinter and Mercedes-Benz dealers will perform an inspection and replace each faulty tire label. There will be no charge for this service. The time frame for the recall is still in the works.

Vehicle owners can reach Daimler Vans USA at (877) 762-8267.
