The 2018 Maserati Ghibli will add an array of semi-autonomous driving features enabled by a new electric power steering system that replaces the hydraulic steering of earlier model years, the Fiat Chrysler unit announced at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show.

The approach will also be used with the Quattroporte and Levante.

The Ghibli also adds two trim grades, called the GranLusso and GranSport, to go with the three available models, including the base, S, and S Q4 sedans. The GranLusso adds an enhanced exterior finish and interior with Ermenegildo Zegna silk upholstery, while the GranSport arrives with a sportier design and interior. The new models will feature adaptive LED headlights with a glare-free Matrix high beam.

Power has been increased on existing models. The S and S Q4 now make 424 horsepower and 428 lb.-ft. of torque, an increase of 20 hp and 22 lb.-ft.

The new drive assist features include Highway Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition, which is based on Mobileye technology.
