Wayne Farley, director of Fleet Services, retired from Verizon in May. He was based in Basking Ridge, N.J. Farley joined Verizon in September of 2011.

While at Verizon, Farley managed six direct reports and 750 full-time employees who operated 281 maintenance locations in 12 states. When Farley joined Verizon, the company had a fleet of 42,000 vehicles. During his career at Verizon, Farley established an in-house warranty station, developed and maintained Verizon VLSS (Verizon Lean Six Sigma) approach to vehicle maintenance, developed and maintained the Verizon utilization modeling to maximize and improve the asset utilization, and implemented the onboarding and roll out of company-wide fleet telematics program.

Prior to joining Verizon, Farley was the fleet administration manager for American Electric Power (AEP) in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked from March of 2008 to September of 2011. While at AEP, Farley managed a $140 million annual budget encompassing 67 garages and seven fleet regional operations. Farley also managed AEP’s fleet corporate sustainability initiative with alternative fuels and hybrid technology, along with monitoring mobile carbon emissions.
