The 2019 Kia Sedona minivan has added a few technology features, improved styling, and an eight-speed transmission to boost fuel economy. Kia revealed the updates at the New York International Auto Show.

The 2019 Sedona adds several optional driver-assisting features, including forward collision warning, smart cruise control, rear cross traffic collision warning, and blind spot collision warning. The company hopes to achieve the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Pick+ with these updates.

The carryover 3.3-liter V-6 engine now delivers its power through an eight-speed transmission that's expected to improve fuel economy. EPA ratings will be available closer to when the vehicle goes on sale.

The Sedona will also now offer an available rear seat entertainment system the sends video to a pair of headrest-mounted 10.1-inch screens.
