Fleet FAQ? Driver Risk Management

Q. What are some things I can ask my managers to do to lower their drivers’ risk?

A. We advocate for managers to always consider driver risk in how they manage, from when they schedule meetings to their expectations around drivers taking calls while behind the wheel. If they put their concern for driver safety into actions, it helps keep safety top of mind for the driver. In fact, studies show that companies with policies against in-vehicle cell phone use experience no decrease in productivity. Employees are less stressed and make better decisions behind the wheel, and it becomes evident that most calls aren’t quite as mission-critical as originally assumed.
