Fleet FAQ? Telematics & Fleet Tracking

Q. Controlling fuel costs, particularly related to potential fraud, is a high priority for us right now. Can telematics help us spot any potential issues?

A. Telematics can be a key way to monitor how and when your drivers are filling up—including how often and how much. This transparency will help you spot fuel-related fraud. If you’re a Geotab user, the Fuel Fill-Ups Report can help you analyze this data at a glance. Events from this report can be compared with imported fuel transaction data to highlight any mismatched transactions. In addition, available reports on individual fuel usage, fleet-wide fuel economy, and trending can help you spot other potential opportunities to save fuel. Geotab also offers anti-theft solutions as part of our Marketplace. In some regions, stealing fuel from vehicles, sometimes even occurring while driving, is an increasingly big problem. There are solutions that are helping to deter thieves to further protect your valuable assets.
