DELRAY BEACH, FL – FLD, Inc., one of the largest privately held automobile remarketing companies in the United States, has announced that Brian Smith has joined the firm as director of business development.

Smith has been working in the automotive industry since graduating from University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in business management in 2000. Prior to joining FLD, he served as regional auction manager for JP Morgan Chase in Chicago. Smith has also worked for Bank One, where he led a sales team to a record 2,000 direct-to-dealer cars sold in one month, and Enterprise Auto Rental. He is currently pursuing a master's in business administration degree from DePaul University through their Executive MBA program.

In his new position, Smith will be responsible for the assessment of marketing opportunities and target markets, intelligence gathering on customers, generating leads for possible sales, follow-up sales activity, and ensuring satisfaction from FLD customers. "I am very familiar with the limitations and advantages of selling wholesale vehicles through various sales channels," said Smith, "whether it is on the Internet, direct to dealer, or through an auto auction."

"We're very pleased to have Brian on our team and look forward to his contributions," said Andrew Mahoney, president of FLD.
