HOUSTON – In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, Hertz is moving in fleet from all over the country to meet the demands of the Hurricane recovery efforts to assist all customers, especially individuals whose cars have been damaged or lost due to Hurricane Ike and the many relief workers and government personnel who have come to the area to help get the region back on its feet.

Hertz has resumed operations at Houston IAH Bush Intercontinental, Hobby, Sugar Land, and Beaumont Airports and is currently meeting all scheduled flights at the airports. In addition, all Hertz airport locations in the area, including locations as far away as Dallas Forth Worth and Tulsa, Okla., have cars available for rent.

The Company has also re-opened a majority of its Houston area off airport Hertz Local Edition locations and is working aggressively to reopen those handful of locations that remain closed. Open locations include:

  • Westin Galleria
  • Katy
  • Katy Mason
  • South Houston
  • Cypress
  • Copperfield
  • Gulf Freeway
  • Metro Houston (Open Sundays)
  • Southwest Freeway
  • Beaumont HLE
  • Clear Lake (Closest open location to Galveston Island)
  • North Houston
  • Rosenberg
  • Baytown
  • Lake Jackson
  • Greenway Plaza/Four Points By Sheraton/Galleria

During the recovery effort, Hertz Local Edition will offer extended weekend hours at several off-airport locations throughout the area including the Westin Galleria, Galleria Richmond, and Sugar Land.
