AKRON, OH - Truck tire prices will continue to increase going into 2010. Tiremakers raising fees include Pirelli, Kumho, Yokohama, Bridgestone, Continental, Nexen, and Goodyear, according to Modern Tire Dealer.

The following manufacturer price increases take effect Jan. 1, 2010:

Pirelli Tire LLC will increase prices up to 4.5 percent on all passenger and light truck tires -- excluding its P4/P5 touring lines. (Pirelli has been importing its P4 and P5 touring tires from China.)

Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. will raise prices on Kumho brand consumer and commercial tires up to 8 percent

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. will increase prices on all of its consumer and commercial tires up to 6 percent with in-line adjustments on Jan. 1.

Hankook Tire America Corp. will hike its consumer, light truck, and medium truck tire prices up to 5 percent. Increases will vary by product line and size.

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) will raise prices on its Continental, General, and proprietary brand passenger and light truck tires up to 5 percent.

Nexen Tire America Inc. will raise prices on its Korea-made products 8 percent.

Goodyear has already increased its prices up to 6 percent, effective Dec. 1.
