LAS VEGAS - Scheduled Sept. 8-10 at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa at Summerlin, the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association's (AFLA) annual conference is less than one month away. Conference registrations as of last month were running ahead of registration same time last year for the 2009 conference. In addition, 25 percent of registrations for the 2010 AFLA are from first-time attendees, according to conference organizers.

Highlights of the conference will include the announcement of the 2010 Fleet Hall of Fame inductees on Sept. 9, and Bob Lutz, recently-retired General Motors vice chairman and former executive at Chrysler, BMW, and Ford, who will be presented a Lifetime Achievement Award on Sept. 10 during breakfast.

AFLA is presenting Lutz the award for his role and influences in the automotive industry, followed by a question-and-answer session. Recognized by AFLA as the foremost expert on the strengths and weaknesses of the automotive industry, the players, and the global automotive market, conference attendees will be sure to get a memorable experience.
