WINDHAM, VT – Two drivers traveling in separate vehicles recently ended up stuck on a snowmobile trail after following directions from their GPS devices, according to the Web site, www.fox44.net.
Vermont State Police said the two men tried to use a GPS to reach a vacation home in Windham, but GPS directions led each of them onto a series of remote back roads where both vehicles became stuck on a snowmobile trail.
The two called police and Townshend Fire Department members transported the drivers and their vehicles to the main road.
Police said a GPS may offer a short route to a destination, but can lead to areas not maintained for winter travel.
