DaimlerChrysler Testing Plug-In Hybrids

AUBURN HILLS, MI – Several companies will soon offer services and products for converting hybrid cars into plug-in hybrids that rely more heavily on electrical power and can get about 100 miles per gallon. Plug-in hybrids generally have larger battery packs than standard hybrids and smaller gas motors.

GM, DaimlerChrysler, & BMW Premiere Hybrid Technology

VIENNA, AUSTRIA – General Motors Corp., DaimlerChrysler, and the BMW Group will begin production next year on their jointly developed, state-of-the-art hybrid system, representing an automotive industry milestone. This will be the first fully integrated combination of electric motors with a fixed-gear transmission, according to the automakers.

DCX Sells Nearly 1.5 Million E-85 FFVs Since 1998

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. --- Since 1998, DaimlerChrysler has sold nearly 1.5 million flexible-fuel vehicles (FFVs) designed to run on E-85 fuel. Beginning with the 2008-model year, DaimlerChrysler will produce nearly 500,000 FFVs per year for sale in the United States.
