DaimlerChrysler Fleet Operations announced two key management changes on January 23. Pat Dougherty was appointed director of commercial sales. Previously, he was the director, dealer commercial. Joe Gholston was selected to head up a newly created position at DaimlerChrysler Fleet Operations as director, FMC & commercial accounts. Gholston is now responsible for the manufacturer's relationships with the major national fleet management companies and key commercial fleet accounts. "Joe is a high level, experienced manager and we need him to dedicate his efforts to working with these important fleet customers," said Ray Fisher, vice president of fleet and remarketing for DaimlerChrysler. Last fall, DaimlerChrysler Fleet Operations expanded its large commercial fleet segment staff by adding 11 new account executives and creating three new management positions by promoting Bob McGehee to senior manager global and cross brand development and promoting Mike Sample and Dave Crockett to national business development managers. In addition, DaimlerChrysler Fleet Operations created a new eight-member sales force dedicated to pursuing government and military sales at the federal, state, and local levels.
