DETROIT --- General Motors Product Chief Bob Lutz said during a video podcast last week that the company has killed some of its concept car ideas because of a shifting focus on fuel economy. According to a report by Dow Jones Newswires, Lutz said GM was placing greater emphasis on developing more fuel-efficient vehicles and more alternative-fuel vehicles. Such alternatives include hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles. As a result of this shift in priorities, the company will not pursue the manufacture of the Cadillac Sixteen super-luxury car concept and the Buick Velite roadster. But that doesn't mean GM won't eventually launch a luxury flagship for Cadillac, Lutz said.
