Joseph Holman, chairman emeritus of Holman Enterprises, passed away on Dec. 12. He was 93.
Tim Janssen, the retired president of IFS (Innovative Funding Services LLC), passed away on Aug. 14 in Largo Vista, Texas. He was 55. Janssen founded IFS in 2007 and served as president of IFS for more than 12 years until his retirement in Jan. 1.
Lee Iacocca, who led Chrysler out of near bankruptcy by introducing the K-car platform, has died. The automotive icon, 94, died of natural causes.
Bernice Siegel Singer, who founded what would become Merchants Fleet, has died at her home in Manchester, N.H. She was 94.
Richard “Dick” L. Malcom, former fleet administrator for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., passed away on Jan. 20 in Bloomington, Ill. He was 67.
William “Skip” Halvorson, longtime owner of General Motors fleet dealership Prospect Motors, based out of Jackson, Calif., passed away on July 16. He was 86.
Robert (Bob) Ferraresso, retired vice president at Motorlease Corp., passed away Jan. 25, 2018. He was 78.
Mike Baessler, director, fleet procurement for Rollins, Inc., died Jan.12, 2018. Baessler joined Rollins in June 2013, where he worked until his death. He was 67 years old.
Among those who died were three past presidents of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), the voice of the retreading industry, and several fleet sales managers from the Detroit automakers.
